Can Allah Lie

Allah Almighty is free from every sort of defect and imperfection like lie, fraud, dishonesty, tyranny, ignorance, shameful acts etc. He is beyond and high above all blemishes. To say or consider that Allah Almighty has also the power to lie is a big sin and is a denial of Allah's perfection in every respect.

This concept was clearified by Imam Ahmed Raza Barelvi (RehmatullahAlaih) after the famous Deobandi Mufti Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi wrote in Fatwah Rasheediah that

"Imkaan-e-kizb teht-e-qudrat Baari Ta'ala hai"

Molvi Rasheed Ahmed Gangohi based his argument on the baseless proof that if Allah SubhanaWaTa'ala, in Qayamat, forgives those sinners for whom Jahannum has been declared, then itn would be a lie.

Imam Ahmed Raza clearified that doing against Wa'da(Promise) is lie , but doing against Waeed is Fazl (Blessing). Forgiving the sinners is not a lie but a blessing

Thus, it should be the belief of all Muslims that Allah Almighty is free from every sort of defect and imperfection like lie, fraud, dishonesty, tyranny, ignorance, shameful acts etc
